Women Ophthalmologists Worldwide (WOW) marked International Women’s Day with a conference at Lions SightFirst Eye Hospital in Nairobi, attended by at least 15 women ophthalmologists from across Kenya. Sessions covered simple solutions to eye care in Africa, diabetes and the eye, the roles of optometrists and ophthalmologists, and women in eye care.

Dr. Prabha Choksey, a founding member of WOW and its Executive Committee Member representing Africa, was among the keynote speakers. “My dream is to make eye care accessible and affordable to all Kenyans and others in Africa,” she said.

The event closed with the celebrated launch of the Dr. Choksey Albinism Foundation website, a new home for resources, events, and information about albinism.
